    Ready for Linux

Hi I have recently fed up with my windows vista box and got 2 extra hard drives, I am now running over a terabyte of space and I am ready to try linux on dual boot.

What would be a great version to start with? I have a very powerful box so it will handle anything. Give me some ideas guys. Thanks!

If you have TIME and PATIENCE, I would assert that Gentoo is a happy little distro that gets you right to the heart of Linux hacking. The Portage system is a package manager which builds all applications from source, so it will take some time to install, but you will have a happy BEAST when you are done.
If you don't have both TIME and PATIENCE, it will crush your hopes and dreams, effectively ruining Linux for you.
On the other end of the spectrum is Ubuntu. Quick and easy to set up, very active and friendly forums.
