Connecting JavaScript with Excel Sheet

Hi,

I want to know how we can connect javascript with Microsoft Excel.
The operation i want to perform are

Insertion
Deletion
Search

not at all. JavaScript has no access to the client file system.

anything else uses browser dependent code like IE’s ActiveX and such but that ain’t really JavaScript.
