checkbox inside dropdownlist

I hope I will find a good answer here

I have A dropdownlist in form inside a body tag
and since any option selected onchange It will call a function that build a chkeckbox it work but I have tow problem
1- when I chooce first time option 1 it bulid a chekbox for it if I want to change to other option it repeat checkbox for option1 and build option for another option that I was selected how can I solve thise problem I want when I select any option cleare the last one since I just select just one option

2- how can I valid the value inside checkbox since it is from function and I want to sum it
