    Javascript / hidden property conflict

Hey guys, Im hoping one of you gurus can help me out.

Im trying create a javascript image gallery contained within a css lightbox style pop up. The gallery needs to be contained within this pop up div, I can't have images on the main page like a traditional lightbox would have.

I can get the pop up and the image gallery (both a jQuery tools scroller and a much simpler horizontal scrollpane) to work independently of each other, but as soon as they are combined the gallery won't function.

It seems to me to be a conflict between the :hidden property of the div (or possibly the javascript that toggles it) and the javascript contained in the div. Is there anyway around this particular problem?

Some examples of the sort of thing I'm trying to combine:

Flowplayer is an online video platform for broadcasters, publishers, and media houses. It gives you top ranking ad fill rates and the best-of-breed live streaming.

    Thanks in advance!

PS - just tried display:none and that doesn't work either!

Some browsers actually remove hidden content until it is shown again, not "hiding" it properly. Because of this you shouldn't run scripts from inside a hidden layer.

I also think there could be conflicts between the two scripts ie variables.

Unfortunately I'm no JQuery expert so I can't help much more than identify possible causes of the problem! Sorry.

Thanks that might be useful to know in future.

I think I'm going to try something with inline frames and put the 'pop up' content on another page. Not the tidiest solution but it should get around this.
