    Problems with Firefox displaying Javascript

    Hello,

    I've the following site which runs perfectly on Internet Explorer 7.0, but fails to run the javascript part in Firefox.

    Please visit:http://www.students.cs.uu.nl/~jtkman/ci2/index.php/ineo to see it working in IE 7.0.

    Can someone please point out my mistake(s) that I've made? Because even when I use firefox it does NOT display any error message or such.

    Please help, thank you for your help.

    PS: And yes firefox javascript is enabled, and yes I've checked my firefox settings.

      what do you expect it to be doing what it does not?

      the only javascript I've seen was writing the select, which worked.

          in the page there is no node with the id 'regform' so firefox fails to retrieve the node when trying to add the event in 'register.js' line 147 ... you have a form with:

          Code:
          form name="regForm" id="regForm"
          so as you see the cases doesn't match ... in case IE does it, it is simply wrong and you shouldn't rely on testing in IE and wonder that it doesn't work in other browsers ... this just leads to bad coding habit and many adaptions to make the code working in standards compliant browsers ...

              This is such an elementary mistake of me. I'm so ashamed.

              Thank you for pointing it out, I really searched hours and hours for this stupid mistake.

              You are right about that, but there was a script included, as you could see <script type="text/javascript" src="http://the link"></script>

              But it did work in Internet Explorer 7.0...

                  As gits said, never ever rely on anything IE does. It's 11 years behind modern standards and practices. Incompetent at best. Always, always use a modern browser such as....anything but IE. Once you know it's working, then check in IE to see if/when it screws things up, but at least you know you wrote proper code.
