In fact the full path is http://www.mssociety.org.uk/admin/index.rm acoder.

I think I may have to dig out my ftp program!

      menuDrop command

I think I may have to admit defeat on this one, acoder. I believe I need an FTP login to the MS Sociey's site to achieve what you're suggesting.

      Thanks for your help anyway

No, you don't. I've found the file at http://www.mssociety.org.uk/javascript/admin_common.js

The menuDrop function is defined within that file. Now the next step is to actually see the page in question where the code is used.

          Thanks for the reply acoder,

After logging into the MSS site I tried invoking the link you suggested.

Unfortunately I had a message saying that my security settings don't currently allow access to this file.

Have you got any suggestions on how I may overcome this?

          Regards

          John

I can access the file without logging in. Just click the link that I posted.

              menuDrop command

              Hello again acoder,

When I try cliking the link you supplied it just opens my browser (Firefox in this case) and just presents me with a blank screen. Should I be looking at this from a command line?

Some additional information about this problem, for some starnge reason I can see the relevant RM options appearing OK on my son's laptop. This is a place I prefer not to go, but he is in school now.

So whatever the problem is must be on my desktop.

Can you use other sites which use JavaScript OK on your desktop?

Well there may be a query about this. I notice that on the Nationwide Internet banking site I am not able to use its functionality 100% and sometimes things just 'hang'.

I will try and get the page I should be accessing in the MSS site, if this helps.

                      menuDrop command

I think I have found the page I'm trying to hit, acoder.

The txt file I have enclosed as an attachment.

                      HTH

                        menuDrop command

                        Hello again acoder,

Happy days, I have finally cracked it! There was some old Norton Firewall software hanging around on my PC which I have removed and am now using the XP sp2 firewall.

I'm not sure if this is completely desirable, but by RM access is now OK.

Once again many thanks for your help.

                        Regards

                        John

That's good news! Thanks for posting. I would suggest you try another firewall or maybe configure Norton to allow scripts to run, but that's another topic.
