Top Trumps Game

I would like some feedback (especially on making my code more reliable on
different browsers) on my pet project of a top trumps game here:

I know I have no images yet, but everything else is at a relatively finished
stage.
One thing I would like to know is, whether the message posted in text saying
you win/lose/draw should be written in a layer on the page or, in an alert
box (which I myself find irritating)

It's faulty - I had Beckahm twice in a a row. The layer is fine for the
win/lose message.
