    That depends. At optimum speeds, that will take 8 seconds to load on
    dialup. What do think?

        otoh, bear in mind that after the first visit to that page, most of that
        50kb will presumably be in the cache, making repeat visits much faster.

          Not necessarily. I only have a 10MB cache enabled, and it gets emptied
          every time I close my browser. Granted, most people don't impose these
          limits.

            I have worked for SEVERAL ISPs, ... you can count on fial up for about
            40kb ... or 5KB/sec ... 10 seconds

              Not necessarily either. I think. Isn't it true that if the script is in the htm then the script is parsed every time the page is loaded? My understanding is that I have to put the script in a js file for the script to be cached???
