how submit form when change event call on combo box

hi.. i have a combo box and i want that when i select a value from combo box it automatically submit the form i use onchange event and using document.formna me.submit by calling a javascript function but it does not work and when i place braces on front of submit like document.formna me.submit() it gives javascript error. plzzz help me
