Removing IE headers and footers when printing a page

    hello,

how can I remove IE headers and footers when I print a page?
I'd like to use a code to remove them, not thru the IE page setup.

    Do you actually mean ..
'how can I remove IE headers and footers
when my *visitors* print my page'?

    Why?

I do not have any visitors and just wanna print out a page with a clean
format excluding IE headers and footers.

        Hi,
Users should have the right to do anything to their browser environment.
If they want the headers and footer, it's their choice.
You can advise (and force)them on how to change the options.

So turn off your damn IE header/footer
settings and get on with your life.

His question is perfectly valid, and solveable. I don't have the solution
with me at the moment, but I've seen it and used it and it did the job.
There's no need to be hostile and rude about it.

I think the text is quite clear,
(shrugs) take it as you will..

So give him his answer and

Mr. Thompson, looking for a job?
Anyway, that was exactly what I wanted to tell you. (wasting..wasti ng..)
I do not think you understand my question or just wanna be a dork around
                here.
wella, Mr. Thompson, ignore the below sentence, ok?

I am still trying to find a solution W/O removing headers and footers
default setting on IE. If i remember correctly, It might be possible to
use CSS or javascript, but cannot find objects to create it.
                thanks again,

Who would be 'looking for a job'
at the rates you are offering?

                  Do you mistakenly think this
                  is your 24/7 help-line?

True, but it is kinda annoying since I wanted to have IE headers N
footers when I visit other web sites to print some pages.
So if I add a code on the template for my web page, then it will be
greatly convenient. (I do not have to remove and copy/paste contents on
                    IE H/F setting constantly.)

You get what you're given. Got it?

                          1) 'This' is not a web-site, it is a usenet newsgroup.

                          2) If you are referring to the site from
which you are posting, you might try
                          telling someone that cares..

One of the running problems with web sites providing access to Usenet is
that their users don't fully appreciate what it is they are interacting
                            with.

For your information comp.lang.javas cript is an un-moderated Usenet
newsgroup intended as a forum for the discussion of javascript (and now
all ECMAScript implementations ) and directly related matters.

Nobody can be got rid of (so long as they don't breach their news
service provider's terms of service), those of us using newsreader
software can killfile individuals but there is little need for that and
not much to be gained from it.

You should read the newsgroups FAQ resources, but as you want to know
about remotely controlling printer settings you might start with:-

                            <URL: http://jibbering.com/faq/#FAQ4_23 >

                            - and then go on to read the rest (particularly section 2)

                            Richard.

No, it is NOT a QandA place, its a discussion group. You are making the
mistake of thinking that devedge is where you are solely posting, when
its Usenet (and comp.lang.javas cript) that you are posting to.
