passing javascript variable to jsp

hello,
i am new to jsp and javascript.i need to pass the value of a variable in javascript to another variable which is there in my jsp file.
i am not able to figure iit out how to do this.

What kind of variable is there in your JSP? A Java variable? If that is the case then you are doing many things wrong. You should not have Java scriplets in your JSPs at all.
