cannot run JAR file on cellphone

guys please help me out here.....

this is frustrating...

i just created my first midlet application "helloworld "

created the jad and jar files on my pc..

they are working fine on the emulator,

but when i transfer it into my cellphone and trying to execute the file helloworld.jar or helloworld.jad i m getting a message "operation failed"

i am using a sony ericsson w550i....it does support .jar and .jad files.

what could be the problem?

further, i transferred the files into a sony ericsson p910i as well..

here's what hapens:

1.if i try to execute the jar file, i get the message "invalid manifest file"

2. if i try to execute the .jad file the initial steps of installation are working fine, like its showing the version no. the author etc and then it gives a mesage, "error with .jar file"
