set default home page using java

Hi,

Is it possible to set default home page using java technology. By using this.setHomePag e() of javascript we can achieve this but, it works only for IE and not for any other browser.
Can anyone share any idea regarding this..

Java can't do anything more than Javascript, except if you use a signed applet and JNI
