Application Pool Not starting !!!

Hi all,

I am trying to start an Application Pool containing around 10 apps. This pool was already in a stopped state when I got hold of this Windows 2003 server.

When I try to start the pool by right clicking on on it and choosing start, it gives an error message that reads: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I read somewhere that this might be due to SP1 not being installed but this server already has Service Pack 2 installed on it.

Please help.

Have you tried bouncing IIS? Start> run> cmd> iisreset

Or if that doesn't work, bounce the whole box. Let me know...I've never ran into this *knocking on wood* I'd like to know how you resolve it, just in case.
