    IIS Related Issue/Question

    Hi,

My name is Diego. I am a new member of the Forum and relatively new to IIS v6.0.

I'd like to take this opportunity to post a new message about an issue I've been experiencing lately. Hopefully, you experts would be able to shed some light.

Problem Description: I keep receiving the following error message when I try to connect to or access an IIS Instance from my Windows XP workstation using the "Internet Information Services (IIS6) Manager" Tool:
"ClassFacto ry cannot supply requested class".

Any information you can share in this regard would be greatly appreciated and useful for future troubleshooting instances.

    Hi there,

A ClassFactory is something that lives inside an ActiveX module. A program that uses that module asks the ClassFactory to create an object it wants to use. That might fail if the program expects a version 2 of the ActiveX module but the installed module is version 1.

I upgraded the Microsoft Windows Script in my machine the last time i had this problem, why not perform upgrade too, hope it solves the problem.

Kindly refer to below attached link for further reading, hope it points you in right direction. Good luck & Take care.
