page not displayed error on intranet

I have an intranet running iis 5.1 with xp pro on all workstations. Accessing the default web site works fine from the server using administrative rights users and limited rights users. The web site has anonymous access priviledges.
When i try to access the web site from a workstation, i get page cannot be displayed - (cannot find server). I am using the ip address of the server in the web address and can successfully ping this server from the workstation.

    Hi there,

How are you accessing those pages? What do you type in the address bar? Try typing the IP address of the default website. By default http://localhost or 127.0.0.1 listens to local pc. Good luck & take care

I was using the IP address when trying to access the pages. This problem was solved by reconfiguring the router firewall. Thanks-

What did you change on the router to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Ensure the the web browser on the Web Server (host) has intranet security settings set to the default (Medium-Low). This may resolve problem!

              Cheers
