    Whose Line is it Anyways?

Inspired by the odd turn that Solve this puzzle has taken, I figure we'd write a story a line (minimum) at a time. No extraneous comments please. I am purposely leaving the gender neutral at this point.

Avery sunk into the leather chair as the computer ran through it's bootup process. The breaths came ragged as sweat clouded Avery's eyes. Avery's hands gripped the mouse tightly as the sounds of footsteps echoed louder and louder.

Avery knew who was coming. Hopefully this would be the last time this would happen. Avery rubbed sweaty hands over the arms of the chair and started to stand up.

File and quickly burned it into a CD. The file was mercifully short, a welcome piece of luck. Avery hid the file in the same place around the computer station that had been used for months yet hadn't been found. Avery stood up, shakily, to meet the owner of the male voice.

"Oh, I don't mean to disturb you ma'am". The custodian greeted Avery, gave a slight nod of his hat, and routinely walked to the garbage to empty it out. Avery waited nervously until the old custodian left the room, and quickly grabbed the CD and put it into the back pocket of Avery's jeans. Getting IN was the easy part... Now, Avery had to come up with a way to get OUT.

            And FAST.....
"The door," Avery thought (unoriginally), "no, too obvious, they'll be waiting...." Avery's eyes quickly scanned the room, "There must be another way." The bright light from the skylight beckoned, "If only I could somehow climb the wall!", but no obvious means was available. It was then that Avery noticed the trapdoor for the first time. But was it worth the risk?

Quickly he came to the conclusion that neither method would work. Suddenly he had an inspiration. Back into the room he went, and put the cd in a jewel case, and then hid it amongst a pile of scrunched papers. Walking passed the janitor on his way out, he threw the pile into the janitor's garbage bin, and began his walk outside. With nothing incriminating on him, he could easily make it out. Now all he would need to do was get that CD out of the dumpster later tonight.

Avery paused for a moment at the exit, "Why did that janitor call me ma'am?", he thought. He quickly turned around and scanned the area where the janitor's bin was, but neither it nor the janitor was anywhere in sight.

Avery wondered if he had taken his medication as prescribed by his psychologist. He shrugged of the thought and made his way for the door instead. Its too obvious, they would never think i would be stupid enough he thought. Just as he expected....

Just as he expected, there was nobody waiting for him behind that door. Logical, that is, because he walked into an archive-storage room instead of the exit. He lost the cd, but his attention was drawn by something that could be of much more importance...

There was a file on the counter and it was labeled "Operation : Digital Raid". Avery`s mind begin to wonder....Shoul d I take it ?, he thought briefly. He took the file and made his way to a dark alley where his driver Alfred was waiting patiently.

For a moment he thought was it the medication, but NO he is sure. He wanted to shout ALBERT, but it was too late. In the light of a car passing by he could see the two figures. One was the janitor and my god the other person is......

It was someone he had know a long time ago. He took a while to gain he composure. He was sure the person he had seen in the car was already dead 3 years ago. His mind begin to wonder, thoughts of the past he wanted to forget started to pour out from his memory. He approached his car to find Alfred with two bullet wounds to his chest. Alfred was dead. And there was a letter on the back passenger seat.....
