    I was once asked abt the difference b/w PHP and PERL...

      They are both interpreted languages. PHP is more used today for the internet and web design while Perl can be used for that plus more frequently for system and application programming/scripting on Unix type machines.

      Perl has been around much, much longer and loved by those who use it and a huge database of code but can be hard to figure out what someone wrote. PHP is more 'C' like but not as flexible as Perl.
