Since you haven't said what operating system you are using it is hard to give specifics.
Windows 2K/XP has a more enchanced batch file language compared to DOS/9x/Me.
I suggest you look up the help on the following commands to get you started
FOR
IF
SET
CALL
SETLOCAL
you can do this by calling them with the /? switch on the command line e.g.
FOR /?
Typeing HELP on the command line will give you a list of all available commands.
Otherwise, of course, there is always the option of Googling for tutorial pages.
