takin on a project with colors. is there something i'm not seeing?

hello.....what am i doin wrong? a simple (supposedly) program pretty much just to change colors of movie clips. i have cs3 and i've programmed stuff in actionscript before....for some reason i'm not seein the problem....all the traced variables should be showing...

i used this tutorial:
