    Flash Button Help PLEASE

    Hello,
I do have a weird problem with my flash button. The button (basic) includes 3 layers. The first layer is the name of the button (text), the second layer is a movie clip (over, down, hit) which includes a frame movement behind the text and the third layer (over, down, hit) just shows the names of the subuttons (cat+pack) in another position in the stage. My question is: why when I roll over the position of the subuttons and not the button itself it appears and the button works? Please, can someone tell me how can I make only the button to work and not the titles of the submenu?
    Thank you!

hey there thanks 4 the interest. well when i create a button that has more than 1 layer in it, for example some graphic to be appeared in another position on the screen but only at the over step, when i play the movie that graphic is recognised as the button itself. what can i do ? i need 4 it to be recognized only as a graphic but still to be viewable only at the over step of the button. hope i was clearer this time!

If it is part of the Button object, then it will exhibit the behavior of the button itself. You will need to use AS to manipulate another image object if you do not want this behavior.

or you can simply change the hit state to the size of the button...meanin g, in the hit state of the button, remove the extra stuff that is not part of the button...second ary text, basically the hit is invisible, but anything in the frame will indicate where the mouse recognizes the button as a button. (need an example pm me)

also best practice for something like this is

          step 1
          make graphic
          step 2
          convert to symbol(f 8) button
          name it
          step 3
convert that button to a symbol (f 8) movie clip
          name it
          step 4
make the secondary text in the movie clip so it is not part of the button
if you need an example, pm me i will send you a quick button.
