Problem opening the ms word 2010 file format - .doc

So, the problem with opening the file (word)..or the problem with the hands (this option is also not excluded ).
A message appears when you open it:
    "error trying to open file.
    Try the following :
    - check the permission to access the document
    - check if there is enough memory and disk space
    - open the file with the backup ConverterĀ»
All possible actions (at the level of knowledge of the average user's computer) were taken - the result is zero. Please help...very important file!!!!
PS I do not know whether in the right section put....another may be a topic already was, if anything, send it where you want (on, respectively ).

    stumbleupon,

Welcome to Bytes! This seems like an appropriate forum to ask your question.

First: make a copy of the original file you are trying to open. Just in case you corrupt it (or corrupt it more) by trying to open it.

What version of Word are you using to open the file?

Are you sure that it is a 2010 version of the file. If it is a very old version of Word, the newest versions of Word may not open it. You may have to search for a Word converter (you may have to purchase one).

You may try changing the extension to .docx, just to see if it can be opened with the latest version of Word.

In a worst case scenario, your file is corrupted and lost. Do you have any paper copies of this file?

Not a lot of good news in this response, but just facinf facts.

      Recover word document closed accidentally
Sometimes, Microsoft Word documents may be closed accidentally because of computer faults, power interruption or human error while editing. If you close a Word document without saving changes, you can find solutions from Microsoft Customer Support Services and recover lost Word document.

      1. Search for the original document
      2. Search for Word backup files
      3. Force Word to try to recover a file
      4. Manually recover AutoRecover files
      5. Search for temporary files
      6. Search for "~" files
      7. Check the Recycling Bin.

Well you use the inbuilt MS Word Utility called as "Open and Repair" to recover your Word file.

Her how you can use it:

      Open your file.
      Go to File> Open.
      Select your corrupt word file.
Select Open & Repair from the dropdown list.
Once your file gets repaired you then access them.
