    db2 installation failure

I'm trying to install "DB2 workgroup Edition" from "Dummies Test
Engine DB2 UDB v7.1 evaluation copy" CD, which comes with DB2
fundamentals certification for Dummies for db2 certification exam 512.

The following errors occured during installation of db2...

    Error during installation: C:\PROGRA~1\SQL LIB\bin\iwh2reg i.exe 10
    DWCTRLDB DWCTRLDB NULL 1252 EN : -1032.
    Error during installation: C:\PROGRA~1\SQL LIB\bin\iwh2reg i.exe 12
    DWCTRLDB IWH jack ******** C:\PROGRA~1\SQL LIB\logging
    C:\PROGRA~1\SQL LIB : 2009.

Anyway, a db2 dialog came up and said the installation was successful.
Then I started the "First Steps" from Start->Program Files->Db2->First
    Steps...

I tried to create a sample database, but it failed with error 8000
saying that a valid licence file not found.

Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong? Has someone tried
installing the db2 workgroup edition from this cd? Can you point me to
someplace where I can find db2 for the purpose of certification exam?

    Thanks & Regards,
    VA

    vAgrawal,

Sorry, I am not aware of the errors appearing during installation but
below are the details for certification.

    1) http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/certs/dm_index.shtml
    2) http://www-3.ibm.com/software/data/education/cert/
    3) http://www7b.software.ibm.com/dmdd/l...2cert_tut.html

    Hope this helps...

      Re: db2 installation failure

      Hi,

I've been through the certification material. Unfortunately, it
doesn't dwell upon the installation process and the troubleshooting
      it...

Do you know (link) where I can get the evaluation copy of db2
      (personal or workgroup edition)?

      Thanks.

        Re: db2 installation failure

Running "db2licm -l", I found that the evaluation copy's license which
came with the book had expired.
I changed the system date and db2 started working. I could create a
        sample database alright.

You can download a trial copy from the IBM website. I believe it is good for
          90 days.
