What's the difference between SK Hynix and the original Hynix?

I owns a DDR2 512MB RAM written "Hynix" from my dad, and my dad bought me a DDR3 4GB RAM written "SK Hynix".
What is the difference between "Hynix" and "SK Hynix"?

In 2012, Hynix merged with SK group, so they changed the name to SK Hynix since then.
