    Dell laptop keyboard not responding

I have a very tricky problem with my primary laptops keyboard. For some unknown reason the keyboard has stopped responding under windows. I can login to my windows machine but afterwords (For roughly the first 30 seconds) each key press generates an internal speaker BEEP (such as a BIOS beep).

Now here is where it gets strange. Hooking up 2 additional keyboards, 1 USB and 1 bluetooth resulted in the same problem (meaning nether of the two additional keyboards would respond). One keyboard with a touch pad still had a functioning mouse, as well as 2 wireless mouses working correctly.

And even more strange, some function keys still work. For example I can control the brightness, backlite keys, sleep mode, CD eject, external monitor etc.

The only solution I have found was related to a build up of static electricity which I followed with no results.

Anyone have any solutions to try? I have tried safemode, removing drivers, external devices, confirmed there was no disable keyboard button, etc.

Ok, I was able to solve this damn silly problem. I walked through the steps i took when the problem first happened and I recalled seeing one of Vistas stupid "ease of use" popups get closed when I shot down.

It turns out apparently one of their stupid popups fired (sticky keys or something nonsense) and locked up or crashed.

The fix was to re-enable every stupid feature of the ease of access section which freed up my keyboard.
