I still dont know why german keyboard is so difficult to use @ . Can you imagine pressing ctrl alt and @ to get inevitable @?. We don't need another steve job to point out this .....

I'm personally not a huge fan of the Ctrl key at all - when I do need to use it I have to either move my entire hand, or make my fingers bend in ways they're not supposed to.
That being said, I don't have a better idea for something to take its place...
I'm not familiar with German keyboards - is it a layout function? Can you set the keyboard to be US and then use Shift+2, or is that a pain to remember?
