Combine Select & Text box?

Hi,

Not sure if this is doable in CF, but is it possible to combine a text and select box - ie so the user can type in text if it's not in the drop down, then add that value back into the list?

The newer versions of Coldfusion have some built-in widgets. If you're using an older version, you will need to use JavaScript (which is what those widgets use anyway).

Some frameworks will have combo boxes. You may also find stand-alone solutions that don't require a framework.

If you don't require the interactivity of a full-blown combo-box, you could use Coldfusion only by having a select and a text box next to it. The select would have an option "Other" which the user would select and fill in the text box.

Thanks acoder, sounds like the 'other' option is a good one, so I`ll use that.
