It's pretty simple, just follow the instructions outlined in the manual.
Before you begin you should make sure that you have installed all of the components required to get Joomla to run. When you're setting up Joomla you will be shown a page listing what needs to be added to the system if anything is missing.
When you are finished installing/configuring your Joomla site you will need to delete the installation directory. This is not the Whole Joomla folder, it's a sub folder within the Joomla website.
