    Nothing.

Learning a computer language is just like learning English. It's like you are in city looking for work and you are asked what you can do. So you say I speak English. They answer that everyone here speaks English but what can you do?

    Are you an accountant?
    Are you a graphics engineer?
    Are you a biological statistician?
    etc...

So you need to leaning an application in order to apply your C/C++ and VB knowledge.

There's almost no end to programming.... .

every six months or so .... technology changes.... and so as the requirements of the employers .... the one who's updated and goes with the generation... is the one who succeeds.....

If you are not on any language.... as of now you can go ahead with C++ Qt...
      or MFC or .....

moving with the generation move to C#......

Although I would say "anything you want" instead of "nothing".

Let me ask your question in another way:

"after learning to use a hammer, saw, and blowtorch what can we do ?"

The answer to both your question and my reworded question is the same: "build something".

You can do endless things after learning programing languages.
Its your choice, which field you like and which work makes you feel better.

True, I prefer ban hammers most of all.

I guess my point was missed.

You can know how to use tools and be able to build nothing because you failed to learn carpentry. Knowing how to use a tool will not get your house built.

I suggest you learn how to build a house. Then if a tool can help, learn how to use the tool.

A programming language is just a tool. It is totally useless unless it can be applied. Learning the application is what's important. That's hard and takes time. Anyone can learn to program.

Ahh, that is better. And now becomes the best answer.
