Perhaps you should ask for a definition of "blank". It could either be ' ' (the space character), or it could refer to whitespace in general.

In the first case, compare c to ' '. In the second case, you may have to look up ASCII tables, and see where the white space ones are stored. I think they are all near the beginning.
