      I can't find either dedicated or portable in that FAQ.

        "The comp.lang.c newsgroup is dedicated to portable programming".

        I have been "observing" almost as long as these newsgroups have existed
        and it is *not* obvious to me.

          I suggest ignoring Trollsdale entirely unless he performs his
          trick of misquoting others or his alleged 'advice' is obviously
          bad and misleading.
