Voice recording in C# (voice chat program)

    Hello,

I've been think of creating a voice-chat application, kind of like skype/ventrilo but very simplified; just something small that works.

Now I am using windows 7 with microsoft visual studio 2010 in the .net 4 framework... which means I supposedly can't use directx (or rather I have no idea how to get it to work, everyone says its not supported anymore for C#)

So is my project doomed? I basically just want the most basicc form of voice recording possible so its easy to understand and from thereon extend it.

    Cheers
    Johan

So interesting, but for record video i prefer use TalkAide for Skype .It's tool for recording video and audio. Highly recommended.

I haven't heard of anything that has said that DirectX can't be used with a Visual Studio 2010 C# project. I know that more and more stuff that was previously DirectX is now showing up under XNA ( I believe 3D sound is one of them). Why does your project require DirectX anyway?
