Drop Down Control

I'm trying to create a drop-down style control. I have it working by
displaying a form, but the problem is it's causing the controls parent
form do de-activate when it is displayed. Can anyone tell me the
"proper way" to do a drop down / popup in .net. Like the date / time
combo does?
