No Aditi its wrong, It depends on your interest whether you like to work with java or asp.net becuase there are lots of work are coming from out sources for asp.net compared to java...

So you have to decide about it whether to continue with java or asp.net in future...

Or do both. IT is a constantly shifting landscape. New technologies replace old ones on a regular basis, you will always have to learn new things.

I don't think ASP.NET is going to be going anywhere for a long time.

It is based on the .NET Framework which is constantly being updated to give you more features etc. etc.

Since ASP.NET uses the .NET framework you can develop ASP.NET applications in a variety of languages (eg: VB.NET or C#)

A limitation of ASP.NET applications is that they must be run on a Windows web server (whereas php is platform independent and can run on both Windows and linux & unix servers)

I personally find the ASP.NET forms application controls restricting...a nd so I recommend checking out ASP.NET MVC because it is a lot more flexible than the ASP.NET Forms applications.

It never hurts to learn more than one technology :)
