Why properties are varied for same Nature control?

DropDownList, ListBox , CheckBoxList, RadioButtonList , BulletList all are of same nature and the difference is mainly in look. Then why properties are varying to get the selected value.


Also when i don't set the value for the Property of any list item why it prints the value of text

Even though these controls will display "Lists" of information to the user, their underlying implementation is very different from one another. So they have different properties.

If you are not satisfied with the pre-canned controls that Microsoft has supplied you with, then consider using ASP.NET MVC :)
