Formview Control

I m new in ASP.Net is there any way of putting the data of the record
that exists already when you press the button of Insert in a formview?
I have tried a lot of ways but they dont seem to work. What I m trying
to do is to create inside the insert template filled with the data of a
specified record Is that possible?
