I have not used asp for years but last year I tried to update my noddy web-site using my Visual Interdev and as soon as I tried to edit a page, it crashed with the message "Developmen t Environment has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I was not that bothered, assumed it was a server issue and forgot about. I now NEED to develop a new web site and I have a different configuration. I unstalled Visual Studio from my PC, installed IIS, then installed visual interdev, both client and server on the same PC. Same problem. I can open interdev, create a project, create an asp file, as soon as I try to edit it, it crashes. Been searching the net for 2 days for a solution, all I could find was that I must be a member of administrators or Debuggers group and I am in both.
Sofware involved.
Visual Studio 6.0 with service pack 5
Windows XP Professional with SP 3
Internet Information Services 5.1
(All latest MS upgrades)
Any suggestions, as I don't have any other software to develop web pages with.
TIA
