    session relationship asp, vbscript

To visit for the information, user need to log-in by using "User Name" and "Password"

In the home page, we are giving a link to other pages.

    <a href="home/pop_up.asp" target="_blank" >Pop Up</a>.

So, if i use the pop_up, then new will open. If i close the pop-up page, I can use the site for other

    information.

Is there any problem, for the login session.

Because, log-in session is going to be expired prematuredly.

As I understand the behavior of sessions, the user's session will still be maintained despite the new window.

    Did that answer your question?

I believe Nicodemas is right, but if you still have trouble, one web-based email program I used maintained session by refreshing the page every few minutes.

There is a javascript command (and possibly even a HTML tag) that will force a page to refresh every so often. Every time it refreshes the session time-out is reset, so the session will essentially never time out. I don't have the code memorized, but if you want, I can look it up.

Yes, it is a good solution to prevent the problem of session timeout. But it will be also irritating for the valued user. Because when a user reading some information and at that moment page will be refreshed.

You could just have some minor iframe refresh, it doesn't have to be the whole page. I still think that's the most obvious solution.
