Apache Tomcat LoadBalancer - Node Draining

I have 2 tomcat nodes on an apache load balancer.

Normally in order to take a node OFF the load balancer, i just Disable it on the load balancer.

Though this is the easy way, many times it results is certain errors on our live site with session getting timed out.

Is there any other way such that I can DRAIN a node so that no new hits are send to it after that and the ones which are sent to it are gracefully terminated. By that I mean the hits which are currently sent to this node get processed, and then I disable it from the load balancer.

I have googled on this, but couldn't find any useful answer.

I also tried increasing the Load Factor of the other node (one to be their on load balancer) to 100 (further it doesn't increase), but that too didn't help...

Can some one help me here?
Working...
