Error while installing apache

Hi,
I have downloaded httpd-2.2.9.tar file. While transferring this tar file from local machine to a server, I am getting an error "File could not be opened by the server"
"553 couldnot create file". can anyone help me out..??

Does the error comes up in copying the file to another machine, unzipping it, or when trying to install?

Sounds like an FTP error, not an Apache error. You probably do not have permissions to put the file in that folder, or the file size is over your quota.
