    Combo Box Error

Currently I am working creating my first Database - It will have 3 forms; For 1 will be used to select the Part that is being inspected - NO Changes should occur here - I am just using this to Populate the other 2 forms for visual and measurements taken.

The Issue that I am having is that with I select a Part - and move the next form Aspects for the part are being changed (like the Part Number associated with the Mold).

Everything has unique identifiers associated them - however I just can get it to stop updating.

    Help.

    KComfort16,

    Welcome to Bytes!

Exactly what is the problem you are having? The title of the Thread is "Combo Box Error" but you don't mention anything about your combo box.

More details will be required before we can hepp with this one.

    Thanks!

Sorry the Combo box is used to Select the Mold and then ALL other fields are populated based on the Table/Query

        K,

Thanks for "some" clarification. However, you're still not telling us what you are doing with the combo box, what you want the combo box to do and how it is actually doing it incorrectly.

Attaching any code you are using is also helpful.

        Thanks!

          There isn't any Code (Yet).

On the Form the Combo Box used to Select the Mold - Which is then Associated with - Press, Part Number, etc to complete the form selection.

What IT IS DOING is updating the Mold on the in the Query associated - WHAT I WANT IT TO DO - NOTHING I just want to use this form to select the item for Inspections (Which are completed in Linked Forms).

If there is no code, how is it updating a Query? Something must be structurally incorrect with your forms....

But, it is still quite confusing as to what the issue is.

We still know nothing about the structure of your tables, your forms, or anything else that might help us out.

Please try to be as detailed as possible. Remember, we are flying blind here. You'll need to describe your issue in must greater detail in order for us to troubleshoot anything.

            Thanks!

Just a guess but it sounds like they bound the form and control to a query. Which is updating the table underneath the query.

Yes The Form is Bound to a query that is? Should I only use Table to Create forms? Will that make it so the Items won't update?

To answer your two questions, Not necessarily and it depends.

Depending on how you have your combo box bound to your query you may be updating what you do not want to update.

It is still nearly impossible to help you out with this without more information on how your tables and queries are built and how your forms are bound to your queries/tables.

It is also still very difficult to understand what you are trying to do with your forms.

I am certain that there are reasonably easy solutions to this, but I still don't know where to start.
