    Link shared email to access

I have been able to link my main exchange email from outlook into an access database by using the external data tab and clicking outlook and selecting whichever folder I want. When I try to select a folder for a secondary email (i believe that is what is is, it has an "*" next to it in outlook), i get a message saying "Microsoft Access can't find the wizard. This wizard has not been installed, or there is an incorrect setting in the Windows Registry, or this wizard has been disabled."

There are no add-ons disabled, so i am not sure what this means... any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I don't think that "*" is what you think it is, hence the error - The wizard simply doesn't know what you've linked to
    and therefor throws the error.

I'll have to take a look when I get back to work at my links; however, MS-Exchange server is very finicky on what you can and cannot link to... I'll update on Monday after I can poke around a bit.

To be sure I know what you are doing:
You mean to say that you have a primary email:
    primary.email@C ompanyDmain.org
    and a secondary
    secondary.email @CompanyDmain.o rg
and you are attempting to link to both email profiles on the exchange server via outlook

Correct... The primary email links fine. The secondary is what prompts that message. Thanks for your help!

        Hmm.. no luck at work.
I'll have to give this some more thought along with some trial and error.
We may have to look at using VBA to setup the secondary account link.
Outlook is a bit strange with the way the objects were created :)

Yeah it seems as though it only works for the exchange account that is logged into windows, in other words, whatever the primary exchange email is.

Have you tried logging in under that other profile and then connected to Access? Or, does that make your Access application under the other profile and inaccessible?

Yes, if i login under the profile of the secondary email address it works. the issue seems to be linking a secondary email address while not being logged in as that user.

While I have very little experience in this area, and conversely ZMBD does of course, I would suggest it may prove fruitful to have a play around within the VBA IDE of Outlook and look specifically at the object structure (Use F2. Debugging in VBA for more).
