Find Gap In Data Column

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Here is a dataset. I am trying to locate missing sequential values in the Number column. What I'm trying to query is "978G" for ID ,"2" for Number. Anyone think of a good way of doing this ?

ID Number
623F 1
623F 2
623F 3
978G 1
978G 3
