What is about the solution in the referenced thread that makes it not work for you? You could go into Access options (no longer under Tools/Startup but now under Access Options) to turn off the special keys.
If the problem s that you want to change only the F11 key you could simply reprogam it to do nothing. You can trap the key and do what you like with it. With a round of applause to zmbd and NeoPa, have a look at this:
