hyperlink problems in reports in Access 2003

I am creating a report for an organization and am using access 2003. When I create the form I can click the hyperlink and it will take me to the file i want but if I create a report it will not. The only think it will allow me to do is zoom in and out like on print preview. I am not familiar with access 2003 but have done a lot of work on 2010 and cant seem to figure this problem out. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

I think that this relates directly to what you are seeing: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...005188821.aspx

Reports naturally (in Access 2007 this distinction got blurred) are not interacteve objects Kathryn. Forms are, but reports are a graphical and screen based visual image of what will be displayed on the paper when you print them. It makes little sense (Someone should possibly explain this to MS) to have a preview of a hard-copy that behaves markedly different from what it is previewing.

If you are after an interactive object then a Form would probably better suit your needs.
