MSAccess 2010 Debug Break Point (F8)

I am currently developing a new database, and somehow the breakpoint (F8) doesn't not work on this particular database. The breakpoint feature in my other database works fine. Is there a settings within MSAccess 2010 that I need to turn on?

For example, I am assigning a date to my global variable and displaying it in the report on load, but it is not working so i did a break point toggle and it doesn't work.

    Please help. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible that your current project is not trusted to run code?

Check the value of [CurrentProject].[IsTrusted] to see this. You may need to do so in a macro if the value is Flase mind you.

        V2010
        Open the database
        File
        Options
        CurrentDatabase
        >ApplicationOpt ions
        >>Use Access Special Keys [X]
        [OK]
        close and reopen database
        Try [F8]

        Post back if this fails

If you want accurate test results you should always use the Print Preview view, and NOT the layout view.

I have had some rather unexpected results when I thought I was in Print Preview, and instead was in layout view.

Maybe I'm just way out of date, but I thought it was F9 to set a breakpoint in the code.

F9 is used to SET a breakpoint.
F8 is used to step through code when in break mode
Shift F9 can be used to set a watch.

That depends. You haven't confirmed yet whether or not you tried that and what you found.

If that is indeed your problem then you will need to play in the options and make sure the code in your project is trusted. I can't help with this, as I don't use 2010, but I'd be surprised if ZMBD's advice didn't help you to a solution ;-)
