Union query field size change

I am trying to use union query to combine 3 queries, all with same fields and size, the only difference are the field status field

Qry1 = [Status] = Actual
Qry2 = [Status] = Missing
Qry3 = [Status] = Pending

the Status field is a text field with size of 7

the union query is fine but when I use a make table query to generate result from the union query, the status field become size of 255.

I would like to know if I have done anything wrong or if there is a way to fix the text size.

Welcome to Bytes.

You can't actually determine the field size in a make table query. Your only option is to create a table with the data types and properties you want and then use an append query instead of a make table query.
