To the best of my knowledge, you simply cannot.

I would say that's correct! And I'd also ask why in the world would you want to?

I think the closest you could come would be to replace the ListBox with a small form in Datasheet View with a Yes/No field bound to a checkbox.

Access 2007 does allow multi-valued column entries, but many people view it as a misguided addition to Access; and at any rate there would be no way to implement that column on an Access front end in the manner you suggest. Maybe in VB .NET but I'm not sure.

If what you are trying to do is select many items from a list for a certain action to be performed in relation to those items, you might find this how-to useful: Double clicking to move an item between two list boxes

My Access2003 listboxes have a MultiSelect property. When this property is set to "Simple", a mouse click on any row toggles the row to/from selected. No keyboard keys are necessary. If this is Access2007 and the listbox is bound to a field allowing multiple values, that may require the Cntl Key.
A sub-form can be designed to look like a listbox. This can have a checkbox and a text field. The listbox will have to be bound to a table with a boolean field (for example bSelRow). If this is a multi-user environmant, a temporary table can be created.
