    Automatic value increase

    Hi all

I have been working on a database in microsoft access for a few weeks, and I am quite pleased with it so far.

The database holds customers details and any outstanding payments for services rendered, now my problem is that we have a policy that we reward our customers for early payment e.g the invoice is for £80 but if payment is received within 7 days only £55 is payable.

My question is - is it possible to set up the database so that it shows the lower amount of £55 for 7 days then automatically increases the entry to £80 after the 7 days so the data base always gives an acurate view of what is outstanding.

The database currently shows the higher amount and I have to consult the calender to see if the discount applies, which is bearable but the totals do not give an accurate figure of how much revenue we are owed at a particular moment in time.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Kevin.

    That's possible.

You'd need the date the payment became due available to reference, but with that it's certainly possible.

There's too little information here for me to be much more help at this time.

Hi, thanks for the info. At least I now know it is possible. What additional info would you need to help? thanks

We would need the names of the table and the relevant fields too. They would be the date field and the value field that you hope to adjust. The current date is already available as Date().

Perhaps posting the SQL of the current query used would help. One can glean a lot from SQL. Particularly names.
