Excel control click issue need more than 11 values

    Hey all,

I don't know where to go with this Excel question so I thought I would come here. You all have always been able to answer/help me with all my Access questions. I know this is not exactly kosher asking this in an Access forum...

I am trying to create a chart in Excel 07, I am pulling data from multiple sheets (each sheet being a year). Within each sheet is 12 different months worth of data for the corresponding year that each sheet represents. I want each series in my chart to reflect a years worth of data for each month in that year. I am control clicking to pull the specific data from the sheets. However, and here is the problem, my "series values" will not allow me to select more than 11 values (cells). When I attempt to control click the 12 value I get an error beep and the values reset back to empty in the values selector box. BUT I can select as many cells as I want if I click and drag/highlight consecutive cells. I just can't control click to select more than 11 cells... and of course I need 12 values in each series! Ahhh!!

Again, I know this is totally off topic but I'm desperate. If someone has an answer, or could tell me where I might go to find an answer or post a question in the appropriate forum I would be grateful.

    Thanks!

It's fine to post this here. I just don't have the relevant experience to help you in this case I'm afraid. We do have other experts here with Excel experience though.

    Good luck with the question.

I usually get around these types of problems by creating a separate "data sheet" that links to just the values I want, then build the chart off of that sheet. This gets around the ctrl-clicking and allows me to select the whole thing consecutively, since it only has the data I want for my chart in it.

Sounds like pretty solid advice to me :)

Thanks topher. I guess I was just hoping to avoid having to rearrange all my data to "fit' the chart builder. I don't understand why I can't control click all the info I want to select. Oh well, I figured I would have to just put my data in an "Excel happy" format. ;-) Thanks though.
